The Selsey Open Gardens Gardens is organised under the umbrella of the Selsey Community Forum charity.

Selsey Community Forum

In a relatively isolated seaside town, Selsey Community Forum is a partnership of local voluntary organisations which, in cooperation with the statutory and commercial sectors, seeks to identify and meet local needs. We also aim to guard the financial health of our local voluntary organisations by seeking new sources of funding.

Over the past ten years, the forum has been involved with partners in starting and sustaining over one hundred new activities and organisations.

Membership of the forum is open to all charitable and voluntary organisations operating in Selsey. If your organisation is not currently represented, you are most welcome to join us at our regular meetings.

In 2024 The Selsey Community Forum received the King’s Award for Voluntary Service. The award is the highest honour a volunteer service can be given and is a well-deserved tribute to the dedication of our Trustees, Staff and wonderful Volunteers.

The Selsey Care Shop

The Selsey Care Shop is managed by the Selsey Community Forum and is located on the High Street.

We oversee ten Community Groups, each having a Service Lead and, within each of those Community Groups, many diverse activities and support services take place.

Every month we produce a Community Diary of all these activities and we are very grateful for all the venues that are offered to us free of charge as, for so many in our community, they become a welcoming sociable and safe space.

Its central position in the High Street acts as a one-stop-shop for access to the community activities and other services provided by the Selsey Community Forum

The Care Shop is open 7 days a week and is the first point of contact for all our users; the staff and volunteers in the Shop will refer someone to the appropriate activity or service within the Charity.
